Account Manager
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Location: Peterborough
Are you a relationship-driven Account Manager who enjoys developing long-term customer partnerships and identifying opportunities for growth?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business that is looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of an existing portfolio of customers. This is not a cold sales role; instead, you'll focus on building trusted relationships, understanding customer requirements and maximising opportunities within existing accounts.
The Role
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of established customers. You'll become a trusted partner to your accounts, gaining a deep understanding of their business, future plans and purchasing requirements.
Working closely with customers on a daily basis, you'll ensure excellent service levels, identify opportunities for growth and support customers through every stage of their journey.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
• Develop a detailed understanding of each customer's business, industry and future plans
• Proactively contact customers to discuss projects, requirements and upcoming opportunities
• Forecast customer demand and future order requirements
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional products and services
• Provide updates on lead times, pricing and availability
• Resolve customer queries and take ownership of any issues through to completion
• Support commercial growth through account development and relationship management
• Maintain accurate records and account activity within the CRM system
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
• Previous experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Internal Sales or Business Development
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive and commercially minded approach
• The ability to uncover opportunities through meaningful customer conversations
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Experience managing multiple customer accounts simultaneously
• A positive, resilient and self-motivated attitude
