Transport Service Coordinator

Salary: Up to £30,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity

We're working with a well-established and fast-moving organisation within the supply chain and logistics sector, currently looking to add a Transport Service Coordinator to their operations team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment and enjoys being at the centre of moving parts - coordinating transport, solving problems, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll play a key role in ensuring transport operations run efficiently - balancing internal fleet usage with external haulage providers to meet customer and supplier demands.

• Coordinate daily transport activity across internal fleet and third-party carriers
• Source and manage external haulage to meet operational requirements
• Work closely with planning and operations teams to maximise fleet utilisation
• Maintain strong communication across internal teams and external partners
• Build and develop relationships with third-party carriers
• Ensure agreed haulage rates and compliance standards are met
• Monitor driver adherence to transport regulations
• Troubleshoot issues and provide quick, practical solutions

What We're Looking For

This role suits someone organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.

• Previous experience in a transport, logistics, or operations support role (preferred)
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
• Confident problem solver with a solutions-focused mindset
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication skills and a professional phone manner
• Team player with a proactive, self-starting attitude
• Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
